ADARE VILLAGE is regarded as being Ireland's prettiest and most picturesque village. Situated on the river Maigue, a tributary of the river Shannon, Adare is steeped in history dating back to 1200ad. The mix of centuries is blended into everyday life as some of the thatched cottages are home to arts and crafts shops. The main street of Adare is punctuated with beautiful stone buildings, medieval monastries and ruins and the picturesque village park.


CLONSHIRE EQUESTRIAN CENTRE which is set in 120 acres of private parkland, provides excellent facilities for beginners and advanced riders. Visit and enjoy this historic estate where individual itineraries can be provided in Dressage, Showjumping and a full cross country course including banks and Irish ditches.


LIMERICK RACECOURSE is a short drive away near the village of Patrickswell. Comprising 400 acres of prime greenbelt farmland in a beautiful panoramic setting, Limerick Racecourse has all the ingredients for a great day out.

CURRAGHCHASE HOUSE and woodland estate is open as a State forest park and makes an ideal place to visit for a family picnic and enjoy the extensive walks throughout the parkland. The house (now a shell) and grounds, were originally the home of poet Aubrey de Vere,


IRISH PALATINE HERITAGE CENTRE (5 mins) houses an exhibition that seeks to re-present in detail the Irish Palatine experience ranging from their German places of origin, to their colonisation and settlement in Ireland, and their subsequent scattering all over the English speaking world.
FOYNES FLYING BOAT MUSEUM which is housed in the original terminal building in Foynes, recalls that nostalgic era when Foynes became the centre of the aviation world from 1939 to 1945. On July 9th 1939, Pan Am's luxury Flying Boat, the "Yankee Clipper" landed at Foynes to become the first commercial passenger flight on a direct route from the USA to Europe. During the late 1930s and early 1940s, this quiet little town on the Shannon became the focal point for air traffic on the North Atlantic.
